Well, I'm starting to really feel the intensity of the days as they quickly count down. With just 5 weeks left, I'm trying to make the most of every day, to make each day count and to avoid getting caught up in what is inevitably the most stressful and busy time of my tour as a Flight Surgeon thus far - the road to war. I'm looking forward to a trip home to see my family and friends before my deployment and I may take one more vacation to a neighboring island to capture in my mind a peaceful, tranquil moment to be able to call upon when things get really chaotic over there. Word in theatre is that because the Iraqi National Guard has been granted access on base, there will be an increased security threat on my base. While this is a concern, I think it'll make me stay sharp and keep me on my toes out there. That's all for now -just rellishing the last few days of karaoke at Chico's, Sundays at Duke's, Sushi at Sansei's, sunsets over Waikiki Beach and warm, breezy nights lounging in my jacuzzi...
