63. For the most part things are great. Been feeling a little alone lately, disconnected. I really miss my friends and family this week. It's been a challenge to stay motivated this week. My down time has been really down. I missed a festival that's going on in PA right now called Musikfest. It would have been nice to go. I started playing chess and my computer beat me 3 times so far (out of 3 games)... on the easiest of difficulty settings, lol. I finished a book, and started a second.
I'm looking forward to returning to Hawaii, although many of my colleagues have family that will be gretting them, it makes me wish I had a family of my own to greet me. I know, in time, patience RJ. I'm planning a vacation with my friend Victor. I think we're going to Mexico...white sands, tequila, lots of water, tranquility. I'm trying to figure out where I want to live when I go back, in an apartment, or in a house? roomates or alone? in Waikiki or in Kailua? near base, away from base? So many things to consider. It's all pretty exciting, and I really feel like I'm making a fresh start - like I'm moving to Hawaii for the first time again. It's nice. Even so, among all of the wonderful and exciting things that surround me, there's a certain cloud of melancholy that's been trying to rain down on my parade. Lucky for me I suppose, the average rainful for the months of June, July & August in Al Asad is 0!

Don't worry RJ, just keep in mind that everyone there depends on you and looks up to you. You will be home soon enough and maybe you can preoccupy yourself with planning and searching for homes for your move back to Hawaii and possibly researching things to do on your vaccation. Remeber the things you wrote, eventhough you are sad and in a boit of a rut, it could always be worse. Take peace in knowing that unlike some of your fellow sailors and marines that you have something great to look forward to when coming home. Cheer up chipper!
RJ,
Hang in there buddy!! Even if the time does not "fly" by, it is going by. Soon you will be in Hawaii, driving your new hybrid SUV, pulling your jetski to a beautiful beach full of sand, sun, water, and women. Picture that and hold onto it!
Take care and God bless

Doc, Christopher says that you need to move to the Island of Kailua, in a house with a roommate. Justina & Christopher said they want to fly in to meet their “Big Brother” with lots of Angel Love on his return to the states. Even though we won’t be there in person WE WILL BE w/ U IN SPIRIT w/ the Biggest Angel WELCOME you can imagine. I know how creative you are, so I know how big you will invision this homecoming.
You are almost done my friend and I know how hard it has been for you. I really don’t have any words of wisdom today. Just know that all your family and friends are missing you just as much. It won’t be long now that you will be able to hug and kiss your mom, sister, Jan and other family. Let’s not forget the hi5’s with the friends and our trip to the ZOO! I haven’t forgotten my promise to you. Keep your chin up. We all send our love and can’t wait for your safe return.
Hang in there, J. Not too much time to go. And maybe you can make it to Musikfest next year... :-)
Hang in there, RJ. :)
You already know the advice I would offer you. :)
As always... in my thoughts and in my prayers. {}
Hang in there RJ! I'm sure your friends will be there to give you a great homecoming. Time will fly by for you, just keep thinking about your vacation and your new home, apartment, whatever.
